Times have varied along with the sets throughout my journey. My advice is don't overthink it, certainly pumping before clamping but don't go for a bloated fluid look, some fluid I think is fine, but when you lose definition, shape, texture it's wrong.
I did 10 minutes the other night pumping with very high pressure in a tube which compacted my girth and targeted the length.
Towards the end I reduced the pressure. I had some soreness but no pain, and clamped off for 10 minutes afterwards.
My penis was still fuller the next few days and my erection quality was rock solid.
Not saying do high pressure, don't, it was my choice, my risk and as I have done this on and off for nearly 20 years I know exactly where to go, how far too push it but interestingly as the years have passed with more experience it takes me less time to get a good pump. I also maintain that larger size for longer, I don't know why but guess it's a permanent physiological change in the way the cells are adapting, holding the blood as these cells are like sponges.
So, just go sensible with a pressure you know is good for you, with time take it slightly higher. The use of a larger tube working girth more will lead very often to more fluid compared to packing one quickly.
